KScope25 in Texas
We landed on a sunny Friday afternoon, after a long but thankfully smooth trip over from London, to a heat like no other under the Texas sun. By the time we had a look around the Texas sized Gaylord Hotel, it was time to relax and get ready for the week ahead.
Saturday was our only free day, so we used it wisely by heading over to the Fort Worth Stockyards. This national historic district is an immersive experience of western traditions and even has a twice daily long horn cattle drive. Later in the day we visited the Original Roy Hutchins BBQ joint and shared a BBQ feast of ribs, burnt ends and of course the famous Texas Twinkie!
The conference kicked off on Sunday with the EPM Symposiums, led by the Oracle Product Management team. The theme was ‘AI everywhere’, indicating how Oracle are working on introducing AI components into each of the EPM applications.
On Monday, Brovanture’s own Sarah Dow hosted an expert panel on all things Oracle Cloud EPM Financial Close, along with fellow FCC experts and Oracle product management. Then on Tuesday, Sarah and I presented our Netsuite integration session, demonstrating how Netsuite connects seamlessly with Oracle EPM.
As Oracle ACE’s, Sarah and I had the pleasure of being part of the Oracle ACE dinner on Monday evening at Zeppole, organised by the wonderful Jennifer Nicholson, who looks after the ACE Program. We also manned the Oracle ACE booth in the exhibition hall for a couple of hours to talk to people about all things ACE. If you’re interested in joining the ACE Program, or have any questions, feel free to send me a message!
Wednesday brought one of the renowned KScope parties – this time at the Grapevine Harvest Hall. This involved a range of food and drink options, in a European style market hall, live band karaoke and excellent cocktails. The highlight was the drone show which adorned the sky for a solid 10 minutes towards the end of the night.
All in all, another brilliant KScope conference, arranged by ODTUG. There is a reason KScope is known as the premier conference for Oracle technology users and I’d highly recommend attending if you have the chance. Thank you again to all the volunteers that help to put this conference on each year!
