Viewing IPM Insights from Forms
As part of the 26.07 patch in July 2026, Oracle have released functionality to enable users to view their pre-generated IPM insights directly from a form or dashboard, via an Insights AI panel. This is a fab new feature which will improve the user experience of insights greatly, however there are a few setup steps as I’ll explain in this blog.
Firstly, you’ll need to make sure the Generative AI functionality has been enabled under Settings -> Enable AI – without this, the summaries cannot be generated.
Secondly, the form will only be able to display insights which have already been generated via the standard IPM configuration area. Before attempting to surface insights from a form or dashboard, make sure there are some IPM insights generated and showing in the Insights list in the IPM cluster. If you’re unsure of how to configure IPM insights, see my blog post here: https://lydia-maksoud-epm.blogspot.com/2022/06/introducing-ipm-insights.html
Thirdly, when setting up the data form to view insights from, it’s important to ensure the data POV being shown is relevant to the insight setup.
For example, the insights above have Subsidiary (e.g. Australia) and Item (e.g. Undefined Item) as the variable POV, so I’ve put those on the dropdown, although these could also be on the rows. I’ve also made sure to select the relevant year (FY22) and accounts (Gross Profit, Expense etc.) and all other fixed dimensions which have been specified in the insight configuration rule.
Once the form is setup, you can use the Insights AI
icon
in the top right. This will open the Insights
AI panel on the left, which will display a summary of insights for the
selected POV on the form. The summary will show the number of insights found
and, if there are a mix of insight types for that POV, how many of each type
and priority.
It will also provide a link directly to the insight details which will open a new tab on the nav flow, showing the data visualisation, AI overview, explainability and any associated comments.
This should make it simpler for users to interact with insights going forward!
Note: As of July 2026, this feature to view insights via forms does not support viewing ‘Period Movement Variance’ insights, however it is planned for a future update.
Happy insights!
